Helping companies integrate sustainability into core strategy

I'm Tom Berry. I have over 20 years experience in sustainability, strategy and innovation, and a track record of creating business value through industry leading environmental and social impact. I strongly believe that making sustainability programs investible is the only way to bring them to scale.

MY background

I've worked with numerous world-class companies across consumer goods, retail and technology with senior in-house roles at Innocent Drinks, Kimberly-Clark and most recently FARFETCH - the technology platform for the luxury industry.
I now work with a range of businesses, investors, brands, and change-makers, helping them succeed by integrating sustainability into strategy, innovation and growth.

MY Services

What can I do for you?

Advisory

Need on-going advice? I can support you as an Advisory Board member, or a fractional Sustainability Officer to ensure you have seasoned sustainability guidance at an Exec level, without the cost of a full-time position.

Strategy

Need clearer direction and goals? Sustainability is a big topic - I can help work out where best to focus, how to prioritise what's relevant for your business or brand, and set up clear roadmaps (that help deliver commercial value). This often involves materiality assessment, value-add or risk based due diligence, understanding gaps, and goal / milestone setting.

Delivery

Want help delivering impact? Define, launch and scale circular business models. Incorporate sustainability into your customer value propositions. Implement supply chain traceability and engagement programs. Deliver carbon foot-printing, mitigation and adaptation initiatives. Partner with innovators, NGOs, or other businesses to drive change at scale. Meet investor expectations through impactful ESG reporting. And much more...

Tom is a rare combination in the sustainability space - highly knowledgeable and passionate on the topic, while being unashamedly commercial in his approach and desire for tangible outcomes.
For FARFETCH this resulted in him creating, implementing and operationalising a sustainability strategy that spoke directly to our own commercial strategy.”

giving back

5% of all income goes to social enterprise

Giving isn’t limited to charity. I allocate 5% of my income to a People & Planet Fund which I use to grant or invest in organisations committed to positive impact. These social enterprises leverage commercial models to scale their impact, enabling long-term growth and greater change.

WHAT I BELIEVE

By making sustainbility investible, impact has a chance to scale

If businesses can't make money from sustainability they won't do it, and if they don't do sustainability, the world is in trouble.
